Ahmedabad, 27th April, 2025: Samvedana Trust marked a milestone moment at its Annual Parent-Student Gathering on Sunday, celebrating the academic triumphs and journeys of its Eklavya scholars. Eklavya scholars are students from underserved communities who have been empowered through sustained support, mentorship, and opportunity with the efforts of Samvedana Trust.
Hosted at
Anand Niketan School in Ahmedabad, the event brought together some 200
attendees, including students, parents, mentors, volunteers, and other
stakeholders, to honour the achievements of 25 graduating Eklavya scholars –
including five postgraduates – and felicitate nine high performers who have
excelled in academia in the past year.
A proud
highlight of this year’s graduating batch is the marked diversity in
achievements of students – the scholars include everyone from BSc graduates to
MBBS doctors, to BBA graduates to physiotherapists to engineers. The
postgraduates on the other hand include students who have bagged their MBA, MSc
and other specialisation degrees.
In fact,
several scholars, who might otherwise have faced dropout risks, have gone on to
join the Indian Air Force or build careers as engineers and architects, with
the sustained support of Samvedana Trust, reflecting the true power of
education.
“This year’s
Annual Gathering is particularly special as we celebrate the graduation of 25
bright young minds and recognise the remarkable achievements of nine
outstanding Eklavya scholars,” said Ms Janki Vasant, Founder, Samvedana
Trust.
“We are
deeply honoured to share three truly inspiring success stories that reflect the
profound impact of sustained support and the consistent spirit of our students
from underserved communities. This event bears testimony to the power of
collective effort and the long-term commitment we share with our students and
their families,” she further went on to say.
The event was
emotionally charged as three deeply moving success stories of Eklavya scholars
were shared – stories that embodied the spirit of resilience, determination,
and the sheer power of education. These personal narratives showcased how
access to the right guidance and consistent support can change the course of an
individual’s life.
The gathering also served as a platform to express gratitude to the many mentors, donors, and community partners who continue to believe in the vision of inclusive education and upliftment and support Samvedana’s initiatives time and again. Through engaging conversations, cultural performances, and emotional moments of reflection, the event encapsulated the spirit of Eklavya – one that thrives on hope, hard work, and heartfelt connections.
As Samvedana
Trust looks ahead, it remains committed to nurturing more scholars who will
emerge as changemakers in their communities.
