Ahmedabad, June 05, 2024: ITC Narmada, a luxury collection hotel and part of ITC Hotels Group in Ahmedabad, observed World Environment Day 2024 on June 05 – Wednesday, through a series of green initiatives. The day began with staff members of ITC Narmada along with a few guests, who participated in a plantation drive. The group planted about 30 tree saplings within the hotel premises.
Moreover, ITC Narmada also distributed some 100-110 saplings to guests as green mementos, encouraging them to do their bit towards environmental conservation. The hotel lobby featured a stunning Rangoli, hand-made by the associates, symbolising the beauty of nature and giving the message about the importance of its preservation.
Ever since its inception, ITC Narmada has been operating on the core principles of ‘Responsible Luxury’. While ensuring the best hospitality experience to the patrons with its bespoke and unique offerings, the hotel is also taking adequate measures to ensure that green practices are seamlessly integrated with its everyday processes.
For instance, the hotel utilizes an in-house automated Organic Waste Converter to transform food and horticulture waste into a nutrient-rich manure. This process begins with meticulous waste segregation, ensuring efficient composting. The resultant manure supports the maintenance of the hotel’s lush horticulture and is also distributed to local nurseries as needed. The hotel’s efforts not only enhance its environmental footprint but also inspire others to join in the collective endeavour to protect our planet.
